1. a social division in a traditional society consisting of a community linked by social and economic ties, with a common culture, typically having a recognised leader.
Just as the traditional Nigerian proverb says: “It takes a whole village to raise a child”, so too does it take a whole community to build a company. Our business is our community. Our community is our tribe. And our tribe is our network of staff, suppliers, partners and customers. It is not a one-man brand. We work hard at maintaining an environment of opportunity for all. From the engineer, the quality technician, to the cnc operator; we acknowledge that each member of our tribe is integral to the whole.
As a company, we try to weave our ideology around such traditions of partnership, respect and belonging. We are a hub for creative and adventurous ideas, designers, craftsmen and women, innovative thinkers and go-getters. We are working to build a tribe of like-minded people who support this culture of creating, sharing, and being stoked at what we can achieve. As a business we have the opportunity to support and encourage people and companies that align with our vision and ideology. So that is what we are doing.

A lot of companies talk about culture - their awesome office, fun events and great perks. While we offer those things, we view culture differently. We believe it's about rallying people who enjoy each other's company and respect each other's skill. It's about working alongside people you rely on to spar with you intellectually one moment, then grab a beer with you the next. At Gilo Industries Group, we all work together to make sure our company is a place where we can create something awesome while having fun. It's important for us to build a tribe that fosters growth, creativity, and above all nurtures individual's well-being.
Close relationships, humility and a thirst for team success makes our corporate style unique. Behind the drive for excellence is a spirit of goodwill in which personal achievement is for the benefit of Group progress, and where everyone shows commitment and passion, depth and lightness in all that they do.
We look to enrich our tribe with multi-talented characters who are both rational and emotional beings and who can demonstrate an entrepreneurial but practical nature. They are able to operate as successfully in manual tasks as they do in a creative role. They have their feet on the ground but their head in the stars!
Learning, cultivating one's curiosity and capacity to be amazed, innovating and never ceasing to push the boundaries of excellence are all crucial aspects of each individual's development, and makes up the tribe's principle of continuous learning and sharing of knowledge. Such is the artisan who constantly seeks to perfect his technique, to become the master of his tools and material, and to discipline his hand to achieve perfection every time.
