Gilo Industries Attend Farnborough International Airshow

Gilo Industries Group, alongside subsidiaries Rotron Power and Parajet International, attend this year’s Farnborough International Airshow held on the 11th to 17th July. The Air Show provided an opportunity to meet new potential customers and suppliers from both the aviation and defence sectors.

At the forefront of rotary propulsion systems for military and other specialist applications, Rotron Power will be promoting its unrivalled rotary propulsion system capabilities in meeting the needs of the defence market. Global defence spending is forecast to be an estimated £82 billion per year over the next eight years and the Farnborough International Airshow provides a unique platform for showcasing the latest defence-related technologies.

Whilst at the event, Rotron will also be highlighting its latest rotary engine development; the 200HP quad rotor propulsion system designed specifically for the Martin Jetpack. The engine is a new development based around the technology used for Rotron’s propulsion systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. The engine delivers a higher power-to-weight ratio when compared to any other specific engine while remaining small, lightweight and reliable with almost zero vibration. The engine continues to run on the test rig at Rotron’s UK headquarters, often with Martin Aircraft personnel in attendance. During the show, Gilo Industries Group CEO Jim Edmondson took time out of his busy schedule to meet with CEO and MD of Martin Aircraft Company, Peter Coker.

The biennial Farnborough International Air Show is a major event on the aerospace calendar. In 2014, the event saw representation from over 39 countries, hosting 18 National Pavilions including the US, Europe, South America and the Middle East. With over 1500 exhibitors from all over the world attending this year, the show offered unrivalled networking opportunities for suppliers and potential customers.
